The music of Balto (scroll down for MP3s!!!) was a great example of what a score should be in a film. I am not a classical music fan, quite the opposite in fact. My taste is more in metal such as Black Sabbath, but this music appeals to me, that goes to show how good this really is.

Below you can download the entire Balto soundtrack! I have personally recorded my soundtrack and made mp3s of almost all the tracks (track 1 is the short version of Reach for the Light so I’ve not bothered putting it on…).

Please note that these were made by ME for MY website. They are for your personal use only, and NOT to be used on your site as I like to keep mine as original as possible.

Reach for the Light (Long Version)

Below is the Dutch version, I really like it, they have recorded a seperate version which sounds a little different and even has an electric guitar in it, COOL O.O

Zoek naar het Licht!

Of course though, these are no way as good as the CD, you can stick the CD in a quality Hi-Fi and really do it justice. If you like these tracks, I would definitely recommend you buy the CD…if you can find it lol.

It was written by James Horner and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. It comes together and really displays the mood of all the scenes. “Heritage of the Wolf” is my personal favourite and is the part in the movie where Balto meets the mysterious White wolf.

Steve Winwood performs the final song of the film called “Reach for the Light”. This song, like the other tracks, captures the mood and very essence of the movie.

Music composed and conducted by James Horner,
Performed by the London Symphony Orchestra,
Orchestrations by Steve Bramson and Don Davis,
Music Editor Jim Henrikson,
Music Preparation by Vic Fraser,
Recorded and Mixed by Shawn Murphy,
Assistant Engineer Jonathan Allen,
Mixdown Staff Andy Bass, Dave Marquette and Jay Selvester,
Mastered by Patricia Sullivan.
